RICHARDSON, TEXAS – March 1, 2021 – Dr. Lauren Horton, Ph.D., senior manager in Research and Development of AdvoCare International, LLC., joins Dallas Women of Impact leaders for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. This campaign is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.

The Women of Impact leaders utilize their network to raise funds for Go Red for Women, participate in mission forward activities and serve as a voice for the Go Red for Women campaign. The group kicked off their efforts Feb. 5, participated in a virtual luncheon on Feb. 19, and will continue their mission through March.

All of AdvoCare supported Dr. Horton during American Heart Month with a $20K donation to the American Heart Association from a portion of its OmegaPlex® sales. OmegaPlex® is an Omega-3 Fatty Acid dietary supplement that supports heart health and aids in overall wellness.*

“I’m passionate about women’s health and am thrilled to participate in a campaign that is focused on improving the lives of women,” Horton says. “My biggest hope is this group will raise necessary funds and awareness for the American Heart Association to build awareness of heart disease in women and help them overcome the disease. My research background and role at AdvoCare has provided a lens into the importance of heart health in women and with my involvement, I can act directly to continue to improve women’s heart health.”

At AdvoCare, Horton focuses on improving the quality of life of those around her. She helps thousands of men and women discover how small steps and the right mix of supplementation each day can lead to huge strides towards living a healthier lifestyle. Horton holds a BS in biology from Rust College and a PhD in biomedical science from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her post-doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
