For this month’s Champions Spotlight we’re happy and excited to introduce you to AdvoCare® Distributor James Heath.
It’s a family thing for James Heath. His sister introduced his mom to AdvoCare and then, in 2016, his mom introduced him to AdvoCare. But it wasn’t until March 2017 when he attended an AdvoCare event that his excitement to share the products really began. He started sharing products with a few buddies, and today–from his business to the gym–the self-employed massage therapist says he shares AdvoCare with anyone he can.

Favorite AdvoCare memory
My fondest memories involve AdvoCare® events. In 2019, I was asked to work the product table at college football’s AdvoCare Classic and also given tickets to the game, and my parents joined me. Also, in 2020, I helped at the product table at the BCS Classic in College Station, Texas. I stood on my feet for 13 hours, but I got to meet AdvoCare Endorser† and CrossFit Champion Rich Froning.

How did you discover AdvoCare®?
My sister got my mother involved, and then my mother got me involved. When I visited my family at Thanksgiving in 2016, I tried AdvoGreens® Greens Powder. It wasn’t my favorite product, but my mom encouraged me to try other products and try out being an AdvoCare Distributor. I did and ended up loving it!
Was there a moment when you knew AdvoCare® was more than taking the products for yourself?
I went to an AdvoCare event in early 2017. It wasn’t until the last speaker got on stage that I really started to pay attention. She took her heels off, started jumping around, and was so excited about how AdvoCare had impacted her life and the lives of others. She sparked excitement in me to share the products. I went home, opened my computer and really committed to learning the products and growing my business.
How did you get started sharing AdvoCare® products?
I reached out to some buddies who were wanting to get started on supplements and better nutrition, so I said, try this 24-Day JumpStart®! At the beginning I sent out a lot of messages, and 90 percent of people ignored me. But then, around that same time, a new flavor of AdvoCare Slim® came out. I sent another message asking people to try the new flavor and had a lot of interest. So many purchased Slim and the 24-Day JumpStart®. That’s when it clicked, and I knew I could keep sharing and help others, regardless if some people told me “no”.
How do you share the products today?
I share on social media, and I give out samples of Spark® and AdvoCare Rehydrate® like they’re candy. I mostly share samples with people I know I will see again, but I do have a digital business card.
How have you built your community on social media?
I follow all of the AdvoCare® social posts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I take those posts and share to my personal social media sites. Using AdvoCare Connect to help me create Facebook and Instagram posts has been a total time and life saver, because I don’t have to create my own. I also have a business page on Facebook that a lot of my friends follow. I continue to “spark” interest even if I don’t get immediate business out of it.
What do you do for a living? Does AdvoCare® incorporate into it?
I am a self-employed massage therapist. I’m able to incorporate AdvoCare into my massage business because I can have conversations with my clients, most of whom are looking for a source of energy or a nutrition plan.
How has AdvoCare® impacted you?
AdvoCare has given me something I was missing for so long. As a former dance instructor and someone with an active lifestyle – a great source of energy that keeps me going daily is a must.*

What’s something you have learned through AdvoCare®?
Patience and that not everyone has the same ideas or experiences with supplements.
How have you grown since first becoming a Distributor?
When I first started, I thought I would never be able to share the products, because I am socially awkward and get uncomfortable in social situations. I’m still slowly learning to talk to people freely, but AdvoCare has helped me grow tremendously in that aspect.
What is your favorite part of being with AdvoCare®?
It’s the continued loyal friendships I’ve made with local and regional AdvoCare Distributors and my customers, most of whom are now friends.
How has your health and fitness journey evolved over time?
I’m still growing in my fitness journey. I am not a huge fan of working out, but I have found a boot camp class that keeps me going back. Having products that help with fitness and energy has kept me motivated to stay active.
What advice would you give a new Distributor just starting out?
Keep going, keep talking to people and sampling the products. Be patient. It may take time, don’t expect immediate success.
Any fun mixtures you have using AdvoCare® products?
I love mixing Spark and Rehydrate. Rehydrate Melon and Spark Strawberry are my favorite!
